A presentation often assumes that a presenter will explain the gaps. Self-paced training needs enough context for a learner working alone. Docs to Training helps an author start from PPTX content, inspect the extracted material and build lessons that can be edited and reviewed before export.
How the workflow works
This is a content-rebuilding workflow. The importer does not promise the original slide appearance, animation timing, transitions or PowerPoint round-trip fidelity. Embedded media reconstruction and full slide rendering are not implemented. If your requirement is an exact reproduction of a presentation, assess that requirement before choosing this approach.
After import, inspect source segments and coverage warnings. Choose the parts relevant to the learner’s task and approve an outline. Add the explanation that previously came from the presenter. Use supported lesson and assessment blocks to organise the course, then check the resulting content against its source. Source links help an author investigate a claim without hunting through the entire deck.
Preview the course as a learner and review it on a narrow screen. Look for missing context, overly long sections and questions that test facts absent from the lesson. A responsive lesson has different layout constraints from a fixed slide; authors should review the result instead of assuming conversion preserves every design decision.
Keep a deliverable you can maintain
When the course is approved, publish a snapshot and choose the export your delivery environment supports. The local build provides SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 4th Edition, standalone delivery and an editable project archive. A successful package download is the start of LMS validation. This free authoring beta uses original examples; the hosted beta is free with bounded AI allowances.
Questions about this workflow
Can I edit the result?
Supported extracted content becomes editable course content. Review omitted or unsupported material before relying on the course.
Can I download it as PowerPoint again?
PowerPoint round-trip export is not implemented. Keep the original PPTX alongside the editable Docs to Training project archive.
Will it work in every LMS?
Choose the SCORM version supported by your LMS and test the actual package. Recorded native Moodle 1.2 evidence is limited to the tested fixture and configuration. Other LMS results must be verified.
